It is with a heavy heart today that we have to share the sad passing of one of our teachers during the night. She taught Music and Science at the International School for nearly twenty years, until she became too ill to work, so our tribute to her comes from our presentation of her, still visible amongst the staff of our school.
PAMELA HUME 1.08.52 – 10.06.21
Pamela was born in Hollywood, California and eventually moved to the San Fernando Valley with her family where, during high school, she actively participated in the marching band, school orchestra and choir. Later she attended the University of California at Los Angeles and Sonoma State University where she graduated with honors in Environmental Science and Education. During this time she was the Earth Day Coordinator for all colleges and universities in northern California. After marriage and her move to Venice, she pursued her love of music, eventually enrolling in the Conservatorio B. Marcello in Venice. There she earned her Masters Degree in recorder performance and baroque music. She continued to be involved with music at the conservatory and played regularly with a Renaissance and Baroque ensemble, participating in concerts at various locations within Venice.
She had a love for animals, plants and life and we will always remember the huge contribution she gave to our school and it’s children.
Fly high Pam, finally at peace.
